Archery Summit is a winery located in Oregon, in the North-West of the United States, land of choice for Pinot Noir, which extends over almost 50 hectares in the famous Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills and Ribbon Ridge, two appellations renowned for the production of great Pinot Noir wines. Archery Summit promotes organic and biodynamic viticulture.
Today, Archery Summit has 6 different vineyards for the production of Pinot Noir wines with very different expressions depending on the terroir:
- Archery Summit Estate, which bears the name of the estate, where the first Pinot Noir vines were planted in 1994 on a 6.5-hectare plot around the estate, on a hillside facing the Willamette Valley.
- Archer's Edge Estate in Dundee Hills with the newest vines, planted in particular with Pommard Pinot Noir clones in 2007.
- Red Hills Estate located north of Dundee Hills on volcanic granite soils, where vines are planted in tight rows, favouring concentrated fruit.
- Arcus Estate is home to some of the oldest Pinot Noir vines in the Willamette Valley, some of which are over 40 years old. Yields here are the lowest in the entire estate.
- Renegade Ridge Estate is a vineyard that has been cultivated biodynamically since 2004. The cooler climate due to the eastern exposure allows for finer-skinned grapes that offer more minerality and acidity, and the later harvest offers greater ripeness of the grapes.
- Looney Vineyard is planted with young vines at Ribbon Ridge on sedimentary silt soils and offers wines that are very different from those of Dundee Hills.
