Greywacke is a New Zealand winery located in the heart of the Omaka Valley in the Marlborough region. It gets its name from the grey stones found in the rivers and alluvial soils of Marlborough.
Greywacke produces wines made mainly from New Zealand's two great grape varieties, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, and also some more confidential cuvées from Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris.
Founded in 2009 by Kevin Judd, founder of another famous estate, Cloudy Bay, Greywacke is a sustainably managed family property, with a large and growing share of organically grown vineyards, with limited yields and fermentations with indigenous yeasts. Kevin Judd has been joined at the estate by his son Alex and Richelle Tyney, who is in charge of winemaking.
