Grant Burge Benchmark Chardonnay Barossa Valley Australia White - Box of 6
The Grant Burge estate's Benchmark Chardonnay is made from low yields and perfectly ripe grapes. It has a yellow colour tending to green, rich floral and peach yellow aromas and on the palate, notes of honeydew melon enhanced by natural acidity and aromas of fresh lemon with a nice length. It goes very well with seafood and chicken dishes.
Malolactic fermentation on only part of the blend and ageing on lees for 4 months give the wine its texture and complexity.
The Grant Burge Wines estate is located in the southern Barossa Valley of Australia. The winemaking history of the Burge family dates back to 1855 when John Burge immigrated from England and it was Grant Burge and his wife Helen, the 5th generation of winemakers in the family, who created the estate in 1988. They are now looking to develop the estate while preserving the traditions inherited from their family in the Barossa Valley.
