This 2011 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru from Domaine Faiveley offers a beautiful deep raspberry red colour. Nose with a predominantly spicy (white pepper) and some fruity notes. Very nice volume on the palate for this full-bodied and racy wine. The tannic substance is present but without roughness. This wine is balanced, with good maturity and very dense at the same time.
As soon as they arrived, the monks of Cîteaux set out to make this enclosure. The last acquisition dates back to 1336 and it took them more than 2 centuries to build the clos as we know it.
