This red wine originates from Croatia, from the island of Hvar in Dalmatia, and is made from 100% of the indigenous grape variety Kaštelanski Crljenak, today considered by ampelographic research to be the origin of several varieties of grape varieties such as the American Zinfandel and the Italian Primitivo. It is made by Domaine Zlatan Otok according to the principles of organic farming: manual harvesting, low yields and no chemical inputs.
It offers an intense ruby colour and on the nose, marked fruit aromas with delicate floral notes. On the palate, it has a beautiful tannic structure, powerful, with a long finish. It goes very well with grilled red meats and in sauce and mature cheeses.
