Laurent Ponsot Charmes Chambertin Cuvée du Cyprès Grand Cru 2019

Laurent Ponsot offers us here a great red wine from Burgundy in the Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru appellation, in the 2019 vintage, one of the greatest wines of the Côte de Nuits. In Burgundy, the word "Charmes" refers to a fallow land where hornbeams grow, small hardy trees with wood that are perfectly suitable for heating.

This great red wine brings a bright red colour and intense aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant and redcurrant on the nose mixed with notes of liquorice and spices, moss and undergrowth and floral notes, rose and violet. On the palate, the balance is perfect between power, opulence and elegance, the substance is ample and voluptuous and the aromatic finish is very persistent.

It will go perfectly with prime rib and grilled or sauced furry game. It offers a long life and can be kept in the cellar until about 2042-2045.
