This Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 2016 is a great Burgundy red wine classified as Premier Cru, produced by Domaine Rossignol-Trapet. The Clos-Prieur was an enclosure surrounded by dry stone walls that certainly belonged to the prior (abbot) of the powerful Abbey of Bèze, located about 50 km north of Gevrey-Chambertin, known for having the famous Clos de Bèze. The Clos Prieur plot is located just below the Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru.

It brings a beautiful cherry red colour and notes of raspberries, spices and liquorice on the nose. On the palate, it is a powerful and full-bodied wine with a smooth and elegant body, and a beautiful persistent finish.

It will be the perfect accompaniment to prime rib and can be kept in the cellar until about 2035-2038.
