Olivier Lemasson Cot La Cheville de Fer Red 2014
This Cheville de Fer cuvée is made from the Côt grape variety on flint clay soils. Côt is a difficult grape variety that requires controlled yields and homogeneous ripeness of the grapes. Often used in blends, Olivier Lemasson offers us here a 100% Côt cuvée full of finesse, with a supple attack and a greedy and refreshing finish.
Olivier Lemasson is a sommelier by training. In 2002 he met Hervé Villemade who owns a 12-hectare estate in Cheverny, and they joined forces to set up a business: Les Vins Contés. In 2006 they separated their activities, Hervé concentrated on his estate, and Olivier continued the Vins Contés and bought two hectares in the Touraine appellation. Les Vins contés buys standing grapes from certified organic winegrowers. Not to mention the two hectares of Touraine taken over by Olivier (organic). The Vins contés troupe harvests by hand from the Loire to the Cher. The vines are scattered within a radius of 40 km, which offers a variety of completely different grape varieties and terroirs.
