Pavilon Rouge Margaux second wine of Château Margaux 1983

Pavillon Rouge Margaux second vin de Chateau Margaux 1983

The 1983 vintage is finally an excellent vintage for Château Margaux. A rainy spring but an almost tropical summer at the beginning, then hot and dry weather in September and during the harvest, allowed the grapes to reach a very good ripeness. Pavillon Rouge, Château Margaux's second wine, has now reached perfect maturity: this 1983 Pavillon Rouge is a ripe wine, ready to drink but which can be kept for a few more years.

Château Margaux is a Premier Grand Cru in the 1855 classification. Pavillon Rouge can be enjoyed a little earlier than Château Margaux but has superb ageing potential beyond 30 or 40 years.
