This Sainte Auguste cuvée is a beautiful red wine from Provence from the Domaine de Triennes, made from a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and certified organic. It is offered here in Jeroboam, a beautiful 3-liter bottle to share around a festive meal.
It is an elegant and harmonious wine that offers intense aromas of ripe black fruit and spices on the nose. Regular pumping over of Cabernet and Merlot and punching down of Syrah bring a rich and concentrated substance on the palate, with silky tannins. It can be kept in the cellar for about 10 years.
Domaine de Triennes began its organic conversion in 2008 with Ecocert and has been certified organic since the 2014 vintage. The estate seeks to make refined wines, in constant search of freshness and aromas for the whites and rosés and elegance and fruit for the red wines. The property owes its name, Triennes, to the triennia, bacchanalia that took place every three years during the Roman Empire.
