Les Forts de Latour 1975 is the second wine of the mythical Château Latour, 1er grand cru classé in the Pauillac appellation. A silky and rich wine with a finish where freshness is still present after a few decades.

Les Forts de Latour is made with grapes that come from plots located outside the Enclos where the vines are about forty years old, from a small plot of 7 ha in the commune of Artigues and from young vines from recently replanted plots or from vines planted in older plots. It is aged with 50% new barrels and is made with a percentage of Merlot of 25 to 30%.

The 1975 vintage was a great year for Château Latour. The flowering took place in good conditions and the vineyard experienced 3 months of hot summer. The rains in mid-September allowed the bunches of grapes to develop and the harvest yielded healthy and high-quality fruit.
