Carruades de Lafite Rothschild 2011 is a great red wine from Bordeaux in the Pauillac appellation and the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild, classified 1er Grand Cru in the classification of Médoc wines of 1855. This wine takes its name from the Carruades plateau, a group of plots adjoining the château and acquired in 1845 by Château Lafite. In the 19th century, the wines of the Carruades were sold under their name, independently of Château Lafite, then the name of Carruades was taken up for the second wine of Château Lafite, first under the name of "Moulin des Carruades" and then "Carruades de Lafite" from the 1980s.

2011 was a very early vintage with a very hot spring before regular rains during the summer and a major hailstorm in the north of Pauillac and Saint Estèphe just before the harvest. The very good ripeness of the grapes made it possible to obtain a good vintage, with a very beautiful wine with notes of red fruits, tobacco, coffee and spices, greedy, round and fleshy on the palate, with fine tannins well marked, and a beautiful length all in elegance. It can be kept until about 2035.
