This Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Fichots 2010 is a great red wine from Burgundy, from Maison Champy, offered here in a 3-litre Jeroboam. It comes from the very hilly vineyard that covers the hills of Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-les-Beaune, at an altitude of 250 to 350 metres, on clay-limestone soil, in the north of the Côte de Beaune. The "Les Fichots" climate is one of the six climates classified as Premiers Crus in red.
It offers a beautiful deep ruby colour, with a nose marked by aromas of blackcurrant and blackberries, and floral notes. The attack on the palate is smooth and the finish is persistent and firm.
