Burmester Tawny 40 years Port - With gift box
This 40 Year Old Tawny Port is a great red wine from Portugal produced by Burmester. It is obtained by adding grape brandy after fermentation and then undergoes a long ageing in oak barrels, the duration of which varies according to the wine. The average age of all the wines in the blend defines the age indicated on the bottle label. The term Tawny refers to the colour of the coat of old tawnies aged in oak barrels, fawn, red.
It offers a superb aromatic palette, with notes of dried fruit, coffee and honey and spicy touches. On the palate, the wine is powerful and very elegant, ample and silky, with a very long finish that expresses the timeless character of this Tawny Port. It will go very well with goat cheese, dried fruit, foie gras and pâtés, chocolate and caramel desserts.
