The wines of Château Talbot

Château Talbot is one of Bordeaux's most famous wines. It takes its name from Constable Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, a famous English man-of-war and governor of Guyenne, defeated at the Battle of Castillon in 1453. It belonged to the Marquis d'Aux for many decades, before being acquired in 1918 by Désiré Cordier. The Cordier family is still at the head of the estate today.
