Domaine Jamet is a wine estate in the northern Rhône Valley in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, located on the plateau at a place called "Le Vallin".
It covers 12 hectares, including 11 hectares of Syrah, and 1 hectare of Marsanne (50%), Viognier (40%) and Roussanne and Grenache blanc (10%). Nearly 70% of the vines are in the Côte-Rôtie appellation and the rest in Côtes-du-Rhône and Vin de Pays.
For more than 40 years, the Domaine has been run by Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet, recently joined by their son Loïc. Jean-Paul Jamet vinified his first vintage in 1976 alongside his father Joseph. He advocates the blending of the different expressions of Côte-Rôtie to sublimate their complementarity.
The vines are planted on steep slopes and arranged in terraces, called "chayets", on a subsoil mainly composed of schist and to a lesser extent granite.
Although the estate is not certified organic, it has long adopted organic practices with minimal treatments.
