Huber Terrassen Grüner Veltliner Austria White 2014
This Grüner Veltliner Terrassen 2014 from Domaine Huber is an Austrian wine that comes from the Traisental Valley. It has a yellow-green colour with spicy aromas of pepper typical of the grape variety, aromatic herbs and fruit on the nose. A dense and complex wine that promises a good evolution over the next 5 years.
The Traisental Valley is full of small family vineyards that cultivate vines that are often a hundred years old on soils specific to this fabulous terroir and produce unique wines from the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling grape varieties. The climate here is quite comparable to that of Burgundy: Reichersdorf is at the same latitude as Beaune, with hot days and cold nights. The limestone soils produce wines of remarkable purity and minerality.
Markus Huber, a young winemaker born in 1979, is now at the helm of the Huber estate, a family estate founded more than 250 years ago and which manages to successfully make its white wines known all over the world, white wines with fine minerality and complex aromatic structure.
