Grant Burge 5th Generation Shiraz Barossa Valley Australia Red 2016
With this 5th Generation 2016 cuvée, here is a superb 100% Shiraz aged in French and American oak barrels for 15 months which offers a deep ruby red colour with aromas of ripe plum, dark chocolate and red berries, with some vanilla and spicy notes. On the palate, black fruits and spices express themselves on an elegant structure and silky tannins, with a beautiful finish. It will go very well with barbecued red meats.
The Grant Burge Wines estate is located in the southern Barossa Valley of Australia. The winemaking history of the Burge family dates back to 1855 when John Burge immigrated from England and it was Grant Burge and his wife Helen, the 5th generation of winemakers in the family, who created the estate in 1988. They are now looking to develop the estate while preserving the traditions inherited from their family in the Barossa Valley.
