Grant Burge Benchmark Shiraz Barossa Valley Australia Red 2019
The 2019 Grant Burge Benchmark Shiraz is a wine made from the Syrah grape variety and aged in French and American oak barrels for 10 months. It offers a deep purple colour, aromas of black pepper, spices, redcurrant and on the palate, beautiful notes of spicy fruit. It will go very well with grilled red meat or hearty Italian dishes.
The Grant Burge Wines estate is located in the southern Barossa Valley of Australia. The winemaking history of the Burge family dates back to 1855 when John Burge immigrated from England and it was Grant Burge and his wife Helen, the 5th generation of winemakers in the family, who created the estate in 1988. They are now looking to develop the estate while preserving the traditions inherited from their family in the Barossa Valley.
