It offers a beautiful deep golden yellow colour with some shaded reflections, and a rich nose with candied and woody notes, notes of acacia, honey and roasted apricot, followed by touches of plum, saffron, almond and green Chartreuse. This vintage offers great opulence on the palate, and a smooth finish with notes of cocoa bean, ginger and vanilla. It is a powerful yet elegant wine, with great potential in this vintage. It can be kept at least until 2050.

Château d'Armailhac 2010 is a great Bordeaux wine, 5th Grand Cru Classé in the Pauillac appellation. In this superb 2010 vintage, it offers a dark and intense colour and a nose with notes of fruit, black cherry and blackberry, and notes of toast and roasting. On the palate, the attack is voluminous and powerful with coated tannins and the substance is expressed on fruity aromas evolving towards notes of vanilla, roasted coffee and toasted dried fruits. The finish is long, supported by slightly toasted notes. A great Pauillac wine with great power and finesse

In 1933, Baron Philippe de Rothschild acquired this Cru which since the 18th century had belonged to the d'Armailhac family whose name it bore: Château Mouton d'Armailhac. Between 1956 and 1988, it was successively called Château Mouton Baron Philippe and then Château Mouton Baronne Philippe. Since 1989, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild has returned it to its original identity.
