This beautiful red wine from the Rhone Valley is produced by Domaine Saint-Andréol in AOP Cairanne and is mainly made from 60% Grenache Noir, complemented by Syrah for 30% and Carignan for 10%.

Formerly part of the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation, Cairanne became a full-fledged AOP in 2018 and thus rewards the constant efforts of the region's winemakers to raise the quality of their wines on a little-known terroir yet so close to Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

This Cairanne 2020 is well ripe and offers beautiful aromas of black fruits, stone fruits with chocolate and liquorice notes. On the palate, it is a silky and aromatic wine, with elegance enhanced by the old Carignan vines that enter the blend. It can be kept until about 2028 and enjoyed with a plate of charcuterie, hard cheeses (Comté, Beaufort), pork ribs, a rib steak with wine sauce or a chocolate dessert.
