This 2021 Cornas is a red wine from the north of the Rhône Valley from a selection of fifteen plots in the localities of Sauman, Combes, Les Côtes, Les Mazards, Cayret, Patou, Les Eygas, Champelrose, and aged for 14 months in barrels of three wines. It allows you to approach the wines of Stéphane Robert of Domaine du Tunnel, one of the very best winemakers of the appellation.

It has a very dark purple colour and discreet aromas of old rose, cherry and raspberry on the nose. On the palate, the attack is round and firm, the tannins very fine and liquorice and the substance elegant and aromatic on notes of black cherry, toast and cocoa bean. The wines of Cornas require a little time, at least 5 to 7 years, to be able to be tasted and appreciate their complex and harmonious aromatic profile mixing fruit and schist and roasted notes. It can be kept for about twenty years in the cellar and will be the perfect accompaniment to poultry, duck breast or a piece of beef.

Domaine du Tunnel was created in 1994 by Stéphane and Sandrine Robert and owes its name to the old stone tunnel that borders the vineyard for 160 metres. Work in the vineyard is done manually, with a winch in the steepest plots, and a little with the horse on some accessible vines.
