This Hermitage La Chapelle 2003 is a great red wine from the northern Rhône Valley.

It offers a very intense colour, the colour is a reflection of the concentration of the vintage. The nose is original with notes of very ripe fruit, blackcurrant and blackberry, the palate is full of volume and harmony, with a silky attack, intense complexity and perfect balance, and an admirable length in the mouth.

2003 is a great vintage offering a perfect balance of wine and which will retain this potential until around 2030. Thanks to its phenomenal longevity, Paul Jaboulet Aîné's Hermitage la Chapelle is one of the great wines of the Rhône Valley.

The name of the Hermitage "La Chapelle" is linked to the small chapel of Saint-Christophe overlooking the terraced vineyard overlooking the Rhône. It is one of the best wines in the world. Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been the sole owner of "La Chapelle" since 1919. The diversity of the terroirs and the "lieux dits" gives the wine a special identity thanks to the blending of the different plots.
