Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle Rouge 2004

Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle Red 2004

This incredibly concentrated wine needs to be kept for a minimum of ten years to develop the breadth of its aromas. The 2004 vintage offers a red colour that is still deep and brilliant. On the nose, it offers aromas of black fruits and fine empyreumatic notes and on the palate, a beautiful mineral substance with silky notes of liquorice and melted tannins.

The name of the Hermitage La Chapelle is linked to the small chapel of Saint-Christophe overlooking the terraced vineyard overlooking the Rhône. In its youth, Hermitage la Chapelle is distinguished by a dark colour and aromas of incredible intensity, slightly woody, with notes of spices and very ripe wild fruits.
The grapes are harvested as late as possible. After a very long vatting period, 25 days on average, the wine is aged in barrels, with 25% new wood, for a period ranging from 12 to 16 months.

Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been the sole owner of La Chapelle since 1919. The diversity of the terroirs and localities gives this wine a special identity thanks to the blending of the different plots.
