Château Chasse-Spleen 2000 offers a dark and bright red colour and powerful aromas of fresh plum and cocoa. On the palate, the attack is clean and frank with notes of mint, cocoa-bean, leather, and black berries. A smooth wine with melted tannins, perfectly balanced and with a nice lingering finish.

The year 2000 offered a mild and dry summer, with low rainfall in September, allowing an exceptional ripening of the grapes.

Once cherished by Charles Baudelaire and Lord Byron, Château Chasse-Spleen is an Exceptional Cru Bourgeois, an exceptional wine that can match the best classified growths of the Médoc. With a very beautiful terroir, mainly on the beautiful gravel soils of Grand Poujeaux, it is at the same time powerful, full-bodied, and very harmonious.
