Domaine Arlaud extends over 15 hectares in Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits and produces great wines in the Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin appellations including the famous Clos Saint-Denis, Clos de la Roche and Bonnes-Mares.
It was created in 1949 by Joseph Arlaud, from Ardèche, and Renée Amiot, from Burgundy. In 1966, they acquired the former salt granary of Nuits Saint-Georges dating from the 14th century, a superb cellar for the ageing of their wines. Hervé Arlaud succeeded his father in 1982 and enlarged the estate with new plots. He was then joined by his 3 children, including Cyprien who is now in charge of the estate.
Domaine Arlaud has been advocating healthy agriculture for more than 20 years. In 1999, the estate stopped using herbicides and then in 2004, adopted organic cultivation by banning all synthetic products and fertilizers. Since 2009, the estate has completed its approach by adopting biodynamic cultivation.
As of the 2014 vintage, all Domaine Arlaud wines are certified organic and biodynamic by Biodyvin.
