This is Bollinger's prestige cuvée, the "Grande Année", made only when a harvest reaches a perfect balance: it is Bollinger's interpretation of an exceptional year.

La Grande Année 2015 is a blend of 11 crus mainly Verzenay, Aÿ and Mareuil sur Aÿ for 60% Pinot Noir and Chouilly and Avize for 40% Chardonnay. Fermentation is carried out entirely in oak barrels and maturation takes place under corks, for an ageing time in the cellar more than twice as long as the rules of the Appellation. The dosage is Brut, 8 grams per litre.

La Grande Année 2015 offers a golden colour, delicately tinged with pink or old gold, a witness to the maturity of the wine, and a nose with aromas of red fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry) with hints of almond and honey, an exotic touch of mango, and vanilla and finely woody notes. On the palate, the attack is fleshy and full, the texture greedy, and the long finish combines notes of chocolate and citrus, with a touch of acidity.

It will go perfectly with foie gras, fresh or pan-fried, grilled fish or fish in sauce, lobster, roast lamb or veal, cheeses such as parmesan or comté.

Find champagnes Bollinger currently on sale at La Bouteille Dorée. In 1976, Bollinger Vintage became "Grande Année" and, in 1997, "La Grande Année". A name of obvious simplicity, to better illustrate its exceptional status because only truly extraordinary years have the privilege of being vintage at Bollinger. Since 1829, Champagne Bollinger has been producing great champagnes with a powerful, refined and complex style on 164 hectares, the vast majority of which are premier and grand crus. Virtuoso wines, which are the result of constant demands.
