This new cuvée "La Maison Bleue" is a great red wine in the Hermitage appellation of Paul Jaboulet Aîné which replaces the famous cuvée "Petite Chapelle". The Hermitage La Maison Bleue 2016 is made from 100% Syrah grapes located in the east of the appellation, on more calcareous, clayey and sedimentary soils, and is aged in 20% new oak barrels.

In the superb 2016 vintage, it offers an opulent and rich nose with aromas of raspberry, blackberry jam, toast and spices. From the attack on the palate, we find powerful fruity notes on a fresh and supple substance, with silky tannins, with a persistent finish. It offers very good ageing potential, until around 2035.

For more than ten years, Caroline Frey has been leading the vineyard towards biodynamics, with an organic conversion that began in 2014 and led to AB (Organic) certification in 2016. Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné is also known for being the sole owner of the Hermitage "La Chapelle" since 1919, a wine that is now famous all over the world.
