Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle Red 2009 - Original wooden case of 6 bottles
The formidable 2009 Hermitage La Chapelle is one of the most memorable vintages ever produced for this cuvée. Not only was 2009 an exceptional year in the northern Rhône Valley, but Maison Jaboulet also worked with low yields, 20 hectoliters per hectare at Bessards and 25 hectoliters per hectare at Méal, and produced only 2000 cases of this vintage. 2009 is undoubtedly the greatest vintage produced at Jaboulet since 1990 and 1978. Caroline Frey has set up a strict selection process in order to identify the best lots that will then be selected for the Hermitage La Chapelle.
The 2009 Hermitage La Chapelle is a great wine with perfect structure and balance. A garnet red colour with beautiful ruby reflections. The nose offers aromas full of ageing. On the palate, the tannins are incredibly tight, racy and elegant and the finish is exceptionally long.
The name of the Hermitage La Chapelle is linked to the small chapel of Saint-Christophe overlooking the terraced vineyard overlooking the Rhône. It is one of the best wines in the world. Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been the sole owner of La Chapelle since 1919. The diversity of the terroirs and localities gives the wine a special identity thanks to the blending of the different plots.
You can also find all the wines and champagnes of the 2009 vintage currently on sale at La Bouteille Dorée.
