Domaine Dujac Morey-Saint-Denis Red 2001
This Morey-Saint-Denis 2001 from Domaine Dujac is a great red wine from Burgundy in the Côte de Nuits.
It offers an intense nose with aromas of jammy red berries (cherry, raspberry) mixed with smoky and spicy notes. On the palate, the substance is very voluminous, still very concentrated after 25 years of ageing, with a long finish with mineral accents.
Today, Domaine Dujac cultivates 15.56 hectares of vines in the most prestigious appellations of the Côte de Nuits. Jacques, Jérémy and Alec Seysses look for complexity, balance and length in their wines rather than power, silky tannins and maximum fruit. Rich in Premiers Crus and Grands Crus (Clos de Tart, Bonnes-Mares, Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Clos des Lambrays), Morey-Saint-Denis forms the very personal transition between the wines of Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny in the Côte de Nuits.
