The Clos des Papes offers us here a great red wine from the Rhône Valley in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, in the 2021 vintage.

This 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape red from Clos des Papes offers a beautiful ruby colour and a very expressive nose with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, with floral notes, sweet spices and chocolate. On the palate, the balance between concentration and freshness is perfect, the wine expressing all its elegance with very silky tannins and a persistent finish.

It will be the perfect accompaniment to game, a deer fillet, a venison leg, a roast boar with pepper sauce, a roasted woodcock, a pheasant terrine or lamb tapenade. It offers excellent ageing potential, at least until 2040.

The Clos des Papes de Paul and Vincent Avril is an exceptional estate that received 3 stars in the guide of the Revue du Vin de France 2021. On 24 plots and 40 hectares, the estate produces superb red wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape from vines of Grenache noir (65%), Mourvèdre (20%), Syrah (10%), complemented by 5% Counoise, Vaccarèse and Muscardin. This Hermitage La Chapelle 2011 by Paul Jaboulet Aîné offers an intense, limpid and brilliant ruby colour. The nose is racy and very complex, revealing the Syrah with finesse. The palate is ample and generous, with a very nice substance of black fruits, sweet spices and light woody notes. Thetannins are silky and the finish is very long.

The name of the Hermitage La Chapelle is linked to the small chapel of Saint-Christophe overlooking the terraced vineyard overlooking the Rhône. It is produced on the best terroirs of the appellation: Le Meal, Les Bessards and Les Greffieux. Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been the sole owner of "La Chapelle" since 1919. The diversity of the terroirs and the places called "confié" gives the wine a special identity thanks to the blending of the different plots.

This 2022 Côte-Rôtie from Domaine Pierre Gaillard comes from vines located on the south/south-west facing slopes of Ampuis, on different plots of the Côte Brune and the Côte Blonde. It is a beautiful fruity and fleshy wine with tannins of great finesse, which can be tasted quite young but which can also be kept for about fifteen years.

Each plot is vinified separately and then the wines are blended in order to obtain the best balance between the power and elegance of the different terroirs. The blend is composed of 90% Syrah and 10% Viognier.
