Château Haut-Marbuzet is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Estèphe, classified as an Exceptional Cru Bourgeois in 2003. An exceptional terroir, a blend predominantly of Merlot (40%) and a traditional vinification and ageing give this wine a very particular silky texture with beautiful tannins and powerful aromas of red fruits and spices in its youth, as well as the ability to keep for a long time. It has long belonged to the Duboscq family.

The 1977 vintage is a small vintage with a low harvest for generally rather meagre wines. The 1977 vintage was difficult in Bordeaux due to a very cold spring and a rainy summer. It often offers rather thin wines but there are good surprises such as this Château Haut-Marbuzet 1977, especially in the appellations of the north of the Médoc and in the Liborunais.
