La Dame de Montrose is the second wine of Château Montrose, 2nd Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Estèphe. It is made from the same vineyard as the great wine of Château Montrose, but from a second selection where the Merlot grape variety dominates, with a shorter ageing period.

The wine offers a more supple and silky character with very marked aromas of red fruits, raspberry and morello cherry, a powerful attack on the palate and fine and tight tannins.

La Dame de Montrose was created in 1986 in homage to Yvonne Charmolue who administered Château Montrose alone from 1944 to 1960. This wine represents about 30% of the total production of the Château Montrose vineyard. Find the wines of Château Montrose currently on sale at La Bouteille Dorée.
