The "Black Label" cuvée is an exceptional red wine from South Africa, made from 100% old Pinotage vines planted in 1953 by Domaine Kanonkop. Produced in only a few thousand bottles each year, these ancestral vines with low yields produce small fruits with highly concentrated aromas.

Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels to obtain this superb South African red wine: on the nose, the aromas are very dense on black fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, the attack on the palate is lively followed by a tense, refined, very elegant expression, and a long finish.

The South African grape variety gives its full measure here with a wine that, if it can be tasted today, can be kept in the cellar until around 2050. Pinotage is a typically South African grape variety and the largest in South Africa in terms of surface area, born in 1825 from the crossing of 2 grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Cinsault.
