This Reserva cuvée is a Chilean wine from the Viu Manent estate, 98% of which is made from the Carménère grape variety and 2% Syrah.

It offers a rich nose with aromas of black fruits, blackcurrants and blackberries, with fine spicy touches. On the palate, the substance is round with a well-controlled acidity and a beautiful finish with notes of blackcurrant. It will be the perfect accompaniment to pasta dishes, a Chilean charquicán stew or the famous humitas, Chilean corn cakes with onions and tomatoes, and spicy dishes.

The Carménère grape variety was known in Bordeaux for several centuries but the arrival of phylloxera in the 19th century wiped out the vineyard and today there are only a few dozen hectares in France. It was in Chile that we found in the 90s a few Carménère plants that allowed the development of the cultivation of this grape variety in Chile.
