This Volnay 1er Cru Santenots-du-Milieu 2012 is a great red wine from Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits: a great Volnay from the famous Domaine des Comtes Lafon which comes from a 3-hectare plot of the estate.
This Volnay expresses itself on the nose with sensual and intense notes of red fruits (cherry, raspberry), peony and white flowers, with liquorice and smoky notes. On the palate, it offers a rich, concentrated, fresh and supple substance, very elegant, with a dense and very persistent finish. It offers an impressive ageing potential, at least until 2035.
Les Santenots is one of the most famous in Volnay and is located in the commune of Meursault. It extends the Volnay hillside over an area of more than 30 hectares and is divided into 3 parts: Santenots-du-Dessus, Santenots-du-Milieu and Santenots-du-Dessous. The Santenots-du-Milieu offer the deepest wines of the appellation on 8 hectares.
