Domaine du Petit Août is a wine estate located in Théüs in the Hautes Alpes and which was created in 2008 by Yann de Agostini, from 2 hectares of old vines under lease. The estate now extends over 6 hectares thanks to 22 additional plots that it has been able to acquire over the last ten years, in 4 communes of the Durance valley.
Originally from the Hautes Alpes, Yann de Agostini studied viticulture and oenology in Cognac then, after several experiences in France and abroad, decided to return to his native region to create his own estate.
Yann de Agostini wants the mountain terroir to express itself and highlight forgotten native grape varieties, such as Mollard, Espanenc and Clairette.
Very careful work in the vineyard (disbudding, de-stemming, lifting, topping, picking and green harvesting if necessary) and low yields make it possible to obtain healthy and ripe grapes. After rigorous sorting, there is little intervention during the winemaking process.
Domaine du Petit Août has been organically farmed since 2013 and has obtained certification for the 2017 vintage.
