This Chablis Grand Cru Valmur 2018 from Domaine Samuel Billaud is made from old vines over 60 years old located on the right bank of the Serein River. The "Valmur" climate is itself located in the centre of the hillside of the Chablis grands crus and Samuel Billaud's plot benefits from a beautiful south-west exposure.

This superb wine expresses itself in a remarkable balance between intensity and finesse, between depth and freshness. The nose offers beautiful aromas of ripe yellow and white fruits, with spicy notes of juniper berry and white pepper, floral on jasmine and hawthorn, and pastry. The palate is pure and elegant, almost crystalline, with a very long finish.

This large windthrow requires a little patience before it can be opened. It is offered here in a 2015 vintage that can now be tasted and offers a good ageing potential, until around 2040. It will be the perfect accompaniment to seafood and shellfish, roast chicken, pasta and fish risottos.
