This 2014 white Châteauneuf-du-Pape comes from one of the most emblematic estates of this great appellation of the southern Rhône Valley, the Clos des Papes. It is made from a blend of Roussanne, Grenache blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Picpoul.

This great wine has complex aromas of white fruit and citrus fruits with light spicy and aniseed notes, and a hint of saline. On the palate, it offers great depth, a richness controlled by the perfect ripeness, without excess, of the fruit, and a long finish. It can be enjoyed today but also offers great ageing potential, until 2030-2032.

The Clos des Papes has been run for several decades by the Avril family, an estate made up of many plots on the best terroirs of the appellation.
