This cuvée from Domaine Plageoles is an organic white wine from the South West of France, made only from Verdanel, an autochthonous grape variety that had almost disappeared and which was saved by the Plageoles family who replanted it at the estate in the early 2000s.
This Verdanel 2021 offers a light straw yellow colour with green reflections and a nose of white flowers (acacia, nettle) with notes of hay, honey and wax. On the palate, the body is ample and very well balanced, and the finish is persistent with beautiful bitters.
It will go very well with a poultry ballotine, pike quenelles with Nantua sauce, a gratin of raviolis with Saint Marcellin, a dry goat's cheese. It can be kept in the cellar until about 2030.
