RARE & FORGOTTEN GRAPE VARIETIES

Passionate French winemakers have decided to revive ancient, rare or forgotten grape varieties, such as Persan, Mollard and Espanenc in the Dauphiné, Savoie and Hautes-Alpes, Ribeyrenc, Oeillade and Terret on the schist terroirs of Languedoc, César and Pinot Beurot in Burgundy, Egiodola, Grolleau noir and Grolleau gris in the Loire Valley, Mancin, Castets, Bouchalès, Saint-Macaire and Jurançon noir in Bordeaux, or Mauzac Noir, Prunelart and Verdanel in the South West of France.
These grape varieties, which existed before Phylloxera and for some even before the war, have often been replaced by more resistant, more stable grape varieties that are more in line with the productivist criteria of the last century.
Winemakers such as Cécile Delucchi and Patricia Boyer-Domergue at Clos Centeilles and Thierry Navarre in Languedoc, Nicolas Gonin in Isère and Yann de Agostini in the Hautes-Alpes, David Poutays at Château Cazebonne in the Graves in Bordeaux, Juliane Motte and Jean-Gabriel Tridon at the Domaine des Hautes Noëlles in the Nantes region, Cyril Raveau in Burgundy and Romain Plageoles at Domaine Plageoles in the South West of France, have taken up the challenge; They prospected the old vines, unearthed forgotten vines and salvaged the woods, then replanted them: a long and hard work that is now bearing fruit.
Here we offer you some rare vintages, available only in small quantities, which will allow you to discover truly different wines, to taste beautiful bottles while participating in the preservation of the diversity of French grape varieties.
