The Domaine de La Cendrillon is located in the commune of Ornaisons, a small village in the Corbières at the foot of the Fontfroide massif near Narbonne. La Cendrillon refers to a very old inn on the side of the Roman road from the imperial era, the Aquitania, which linked Narbonne to Toulouse, bordered by the river Orbieu.
The Domaine de La Cendrillon has been associated with the Joyeux family since the 17th century and since 2005, Robert Joyeux has been at the head of the family estate with his wife and eight children. After launching a programme of work both in the vineyard and in the cellars, the ambition of the Joyeux family is to produce Corbières wines in a new and original style.
Domaine de La Cendrillon obtained organic certification (ECOCERT) in 2012 for its entire vineyard. The name Cinderella is an allegory of the young woman who stands in the shadows, by the fire and who becomes the symbol of the momentarily darkened and finally triumphant light.
