The 1988 Clos Triguedina is a Cahors wine that is now well opened with a beautiful dark, black colour. The nose is evolved with notes of undergrowth, spices, truffle and candied fruit. The palate is rich and ample with a very nice length on the finish: a wine to be enjoyed now with game for example.

Clos Triguedina has belonged to the Baldès family since 1830: it is one of the most beautiful estates in Cahors and one of the founders of the appellation. It is now in the hands of Jean-Luc Baldès, a fine connoisseur of the Malbec grape variety, who creates superb single-vineyard cuvées of Cahors wines such as New Black Wine and Probus.

The best wines of Cahors, such as those of Clos Triguedina, are wines that can be kept for several decades in good vintages and that often offer more pleasure to taste than many well-known wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy or the Rhône Valley.

If you are looking for a bottle of 1988 or more generally a wine from a vintage of a year of birth, a nice idea for a birthday gift for example, the great Cahors wines of Clos Triguedina are excellent choices.
