1981 is a great vintage in the Cahors appellation and Le Clos Triguedina 1981 is an excellent representative of this vintage: very dark ruby colour, powerful nose of black fruits and on the palate, more black fruits, spices and notes of undergrowth with a beautiful and long finish.

Clos Triguedina has been the property of the Baldès family since 1830 and is one of the most beautiful estates in Cahors, founder of the appellation. Its name "me trigo de dina" is taken from the Occitan "il me tarde de diner" in reference to the stage very popular with pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela who liked to eat there. Jean-Luc Baldès now manages the estate and works on the production of great red wines made from the Malbec grape variety.

The best wines of Cahors, such as those of Clos Triguedina, are wines that can be kept for several decades in good vintages and that often offer more pleasure to taste than many well-known wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy or the Rhône Valley.
