Clos Triguedina Cahors 2019
The 2019 Clos Triguedina is a Cahors wine made from 85% Malbec, 10% Merlot and 5% Tannat.
It offers a superb deep ruby colour with purplish reflections. The nose offers intense aromas of black fruits, enhanced by peppery notes and liquorice. The palate is well-balanced and concentrated with ripe and supple tannins. It is a long-lasting wine with a bright future, to be enjoyed with foie gras, red meats in sauce and game or with a little patience and a few more years of conservation, with truffles.
Clos Triguedina has belonged to the Baldès family since 1830: it is one of the most beautiful estates in Cahors and one of the founders of the appellation. It is now in the hands of Jean-Luc Baldès, a fine connoisseur of the Malbec grape variety, who creates superb single-vineyard cuvées of Cahors wines such as New Black Wine and Probus.
The best wines of Cahors, such as those of Clos Triguedina, are wines that can be kept for several decades in good vintages and that often offer more pleasure to taste than many well-known wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy or the Rhône Valley.
If you are looking for the wine of a vintage of a year of birth to celebrate a birthday, the wines of Clos Triguedina are wines of great ageing and an excellent choice. Find them here!
