The Grand Vintage Collection was created in 1842 when Moët & Chandon decided to offer one of the very first vintages of Champagne to its customers and connoisseurs who were looking for more mature wines. Each Grand Vintage cuvée is unique and an interpretation of the vintage by the Cellar Master, which stands out for its maturity and complexity, all in harmony, with sweetness and freshness.

This Grand Vintage 2012 offers a pale yellow colour, bright with green reflections, and a fine and persistent bubble. The nose expresses aromas of white flowers and crisp white-fleshed fruits (pear, peach) followed by pastry notes, fresh walnuts, hazelnut and rusk. The attack on the palate is supple and then gives way to a very soft texture balanced by an acidic framework and a persistent sapid finish with citrus accents and iodine notes.

In this 2012 vintage, the wines of black grape varieties, Pinot Noir and especially Pinot Meunier, are particularly successful and enter the majority of the blend, at 33% and 26% respectively, completed by 41% Chardonnay.
