Chateau La Nerthe Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee des Cadettes Red 2010

The 2010 Château La Nerthe Cuvée des Cadettes has a deep purple colour with intense garnet reflections. Powerful, sunny, the nose exudes an aromatic bouquet with touches of chocolate, powdery cocoa and fresh plums, embellished with slightly spicier and empyreumatic nuances. The palate reveals a deep and sappy substance. The perfect mastery of the ageing process gives the wine of the breed depth and an exquisitely velvety texture. The finish is long and persistent with all the aromas of the nose, enhanced by fine scents of thyme, exotic woods, and even balsamic essences.

An exceptional vintage for an exceptional cuvée. 2010 is one of the best vintages of the last fifty years for the great wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, along with 2007, 2000 and 1998.

The red Châteauneuf-du-Pape cuvée des Cadettes is a legendary figurehead of the Rhône Valley and can only be produced if, on the other hand, the expression of the terroir in the classic cuvées is total. It was Commander Ducos who gave this name at the end of the 19th century, that of a very old plot of the property, to a cuvée of Château La Nerthe and it was taken over in 1986. Since the 1970s, the Cuvée des Cadettes has been made from the oldest vines of the château with the grape varieties Grenache noir, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, in equal parts.

Find the great white and red wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the wines of Château La Nerthe with La Bouteille Dorée: many old vintages and large bottle formats in stock.
