This beautiful Italian red wine from Puglia in the Salento IGT appellation is produced by Tenuta Giustini from vines of the Primitivo grape variety. This very old Italian grape variety is the ancestor of the Zinfandel grape variety found in Californian wines in the United States. The harvest is entirely manual, the destemming is total and the ageing is carried out in vats for 6 months.

It offers a bright ruby colour and aromas of red and black fruits on the nose with delicate notes of violet and wild mint, typical of the Primitivo grape variety. On the palate, the substance is dense and fruity with supple tannins, and a finish with notes of almond. It will go perfectly with grilled and roasted meats, mature cheeses and cold cuts.

This red wine originates from Dalmatia in Croatia and is made from 100% of the indigenous grape variety Kaštelanski Crljenak, today considered by ampelographic research to be the origin of several varieties of grape varieties such as the American Zinfandel and the Italian Primitivo. Almost extinct due to its low resistance to disease, it was replanted a few decades ago on the initiative of Croatian winemaker Miljenko Grgic, founder and co-owner of the Grgich Hills estate. It is made by the Vinarija Krolo Estate according to the principles of organic farming: manual harvesting, low yields and no chemical inputs.

This Kastelanski Crljenak 2018 offers an intense ruby colour and fruity aromas on the nose, slightly smoky and spicy, with notes of cloves and leather. On the palate, it expresses itself with a beautiful tannic structure and a long finish. It will go very well with grilled red meats and in sauce, stews, and mature cheeses.
