Bordeaux crus bourgeois du Médoc

The Crus Bourgeois were really born in 1932 when Bordeaux brokers under the aegis of the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Gironde Chamber of Agriculture consecrated 444 Crus Bourgeois.

The first classification was created in 2003 but following numerous conflicts, it was replaced in 2009 by an approval by the public authorities with a new quality approach allowing a qualitative selection of the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc. This new classification sees the removal of the Cru Bourgeois supérieur and Cru Bourgeois exceptional mentions.

The official selection of the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc has been published every year in September since 2010.
