PINOT NOIR

With just over 86,000 hectares, Pinot Noir is one of the main red grape varieties planted in the world. It is mainly found in France and the United States and to a lesser extent in Germany, Italy, New Zealand and Australia.

The only grape variety in the red wines of Burgundy and Sancerre, Pinot Noir can produce complex, long-lasting wines that are very different depending on the terroirs on which it is grown, whether in Burgundy in the Côte de Beaune, the Côte de Nuits or the Mâconnais, in Sancerre, in Alsace, in the north-west of the United States or in New Zealand.

It is also used alone or as a blend in the production of sparkling wines of Champagne. Used alone or with Pinot Meunier, it gives birth to Champagne Blanc de Noirs.
